Maureen Vastardis

Being shy as a child can have its benefits. It was then that I started to develop my observation skills. Now objects seem to leap into my visual field allowing me to capture a special moment or explore the abstract qualities in nature and architecture. Color, shape and light serve as inspiration to project their dynamic power and energy to make bold photographic images that will engage the viewer. Historically I have taken a more traditional photographic  approach to obtain the intended results in the camera, but recently I have been experimenting with technologies to give my work a modern element.

Watercolor allows me the freedom to explore the medium and express my emotional interpretation of various scenes and objects.
