Jamie Sandberg

Jamie Sandberg

Jamie Sandberg honed her photographic eye in old-school black and white. Decades later, she let her artistic vision bloom in vivid digital color.

A Long Beach native, Jamie has lived in this neighborhood most of her life. She studied black and white photography at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, California State University, Long Beach and Long Beach City College.

Marriage and motherhood put her photographic career on hold. After raising her daughter, she decided to pick up the camera again – but this time with no film.

Attuned to the geometry and contrast of her diverse subjects, Jamie aims to capture what others may not notice at first glance. That includes nature’s intricate patterns and their counterparts in man-made marvels.

Jamie likes to look below the surface and bring out those details that make her subjects special and memorable. And those subjects cover a wide range from tranquil landscapes to the Toyota Grand Prix. Her work has appeared in such publications as the Long Beach Press Telegram and the Sacramento Bee.

Well-traveled, Jamie still finds many of her subjects close to home. An avid gardener and do-it-yourselfer, she is restoring her California Heights classic Spanish style home.
