Carol Kron

Carol Kron makes silver jewelry at her home in California Heights, Long Beach.  She’s an artist with an engineer’s brain, who loves studying the geometry of patterns and figuring out how to make them into a piece of jewelry.  She designs in Adobe Illustrator, making each shape and rotating it around on an axis. The pattern is transferred to a sheet of silver, then she drills a hole in each section and cuts out each shape using a tiny blade on her jeweler’s saw.  Carol is a member of Long Beach Mineral & Gem Society and has a love of rocks, especially turquoise and variscite, which she adds to her jewelry.  She’s happiest working at her bench wearing magnifying goggles, listening to podcasts, and sawing away at a piece of silver.
