Bonnie McCarthy

Bonnie McCarthy is a photographer, artist and writer based in the California Heights neighborhood of Long Beach where she lives on a tree-lined street in a century-old home with her husband and a very sassy golden doodle.

Celebrating her eighth year of participation on the LB Open Studio Tour, she will continue to showcase her passion for photography with work that puts a focus on natural light and finding the extraordinary beauty within everyday things. A new collection of one-of-a-kind, Wabi-Sabi-inspired photographs will also debut alongside a series acrylic paintings on canvas that draw upon themes of grace and new beginnings.

Weather permitting, the show will be located in the garden of her atelier (aka, the side yard) for the first time. Come join the fun!

Possessing an editor’s eye and a refined sense of style, her photography has appeared in publications and online media sites such as Oprah Magazine, Houzz.com, Flea Market Finds and Huffington Post.

Her fine art photography has been the subject of both juried group and solo exhibitions including the 2019 Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach, CA. It is also on permanent exhibition at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach and included within the private holdings of esteemed collectors.

She is a proud member of the Long Beach Arts Council and grateful for the support of a very creative community.
