Moira Hahn

Moira Hahn (Studio #?) – 396 Park Avenue

I was raised on the East Coast and moved to California as a teenager.  Prior to committing to fine art, I worked in various fields including character animation and illustration.  Clients included Time magazine, Cosmopolitan magazine, The New York Times newspaper, and The New Yorker magazine.

My parents were Japanophiles.  My dad served in WWII in China, for two years, and collected cloisonné and sculptures while avidly photographing rural people and lifestyles near his Army post.  He dreamed of China for the rest of his life, an obsession that affected me and enhanced my curiosity.

Our house was full of art, much of it Asian.  While I was young, a favorite uncle stationed in Osaka regularly sent us ‘care packages’ of Japanese art, toys and apparel.
