Donald Tiscareno

Donald Tiscareno (Studio #45) – 396 Park Avenue

Back in my days at college (the early Sixties) when I was a student of art, I became interested in the modernist movement. It wasn’t until I traveled to Paris that I was exposed to a whole new approach that the painters of the mid century were exploring and it has become an inspiration for me to this day. I paint six to eight hours each day and am currently preparing an exhibit to be shown at The Center Art Gallery this September. I’ve titled the exhibit THE NEWLY MODERNE. It will run from early September through November.

I was born in Los Angeles and have been painting since the age of five. I am a graduate of Cal State University of Long Beach where I earned a Master’s Degree in art. I have taught art in the Huntington Beach Union High School District, Cerritos College, Long Beach City College, and Cal State Long Beach. My preferred mediums are oil on canvas and mixed media. I exhibit my paintings regularly at The Long Beach Playhouse.
