Elena Marty

Elena Marty – 5768 Lucia Walk

Elena Buoncristiani Marty began her early studies in art at California State University Northridge ((CSUN) School of Fine Arts. Classes in painting, drawing, sculpture, and design gave her fundamentals in human anatomy, color theory,  and composition.  Many years passed before she was able to put theory into practice.   As a result, she has become most prolific in her oil paintings of people, cityscapes, landscapes, flora, and fauna. She currently studies with Ruth Hollis and she has worked with contemporary realist, Catherine Dziallo-Haller.  Elena’s portraits manage to capture the essence of the subject’s personality.  International job  assignments and exposure to cultures out of the mainstream have given Elena an opportunity to showcase her own particular style in interpreting the jungles of Palau, Micronesia, the rugged terrain of Antarctica, the wonderful people of Greece and the Aegean Sea, Turkey,  have most recently influenced her choice of subjects. Simple still life arrangements of flowers and koi fish show how diverse her interests and talent reach.  She has been invited to exhibit at Sasha Witte Design in Long Beach, California, showed her work at a juried show through the San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild show in Poway (San Diego, California), and has displayed her eclectic talent for jewelry design in the Laguna Festival of the Arts,  Art-A-Fair, a juried exhibition of 125 international artists.
